Man kills son, mutilates wife over alleged infidelity

A washerman, Henry Nnamdi, has allegedly killed his one-year-old son, Chukwuebuka, in order to spite his wife, whom he accused of having an extra-marital affair. Henry also used a hot pressing iron to burn his wife, Mercy, and stabbed her repeatedly in order to force her to confess to the allegation.
A police source said 40-year-old Henry had been suspecting that his wife was having an amorous relationship with his father for a while.

Our correspondent learnt that on Easter Sunday around 2am, Mercy turned down her husband’s request for sex resulting in an argument between the couple.

A reliable police source told PUNCH Metro, “Henry and his wife live together in a room with their only child at 3, Lambe Street, Ago Palace Way, Lagos.
“The suspect had been suspicious of his wife’s movement and on that very day, he came back home late in the evening and was ironing his customers’ clothes on the floor while his wife and son were on the bed.
“His wife and son were both naked because the room was poorly ventilated. Henry then told his wife he wanted to have sex with her but she refused.

“Henry was infuriated by her refusal and saw it as a confirmation of his suspicion. He grabbed the pressing iron and started inflicting burns all over Mercy’s body, including her private part, asking her to confess.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect immediately grabbed his son and fled. However, the corpse of his son was later found in the compound.

Our correspondent learnt that the landlord, Mr. Amao Lateef, immediately informed the Okota Police Division and Mercy was rushed to a nearby hospital where she has been receiving treatment.
According to sources at the Okota Police Division, the couple who have been married for two years, had a history of fighting and on four occasions, a police report had been filed by Mercy.

Watching Porn has Very Odd Effect on the Brain

LIFE STYLE:
Watching pornography would seem to be a vision-intensive task such a lovely site to behold...well that's to those who enjoy watching it. But new research finds that looking at erotic movies can actually quiet the part of the brain that processes visual stimuli.

Most of the time, watching movies or conducting any other visual task sends extra blood flow to this brain region. Not so when the movies are explicit, the researchers found. Instead, the brain seems to shunt blood — and therefore energy — elsewhere, perhaps to regions of the brain responsible for  sexual arousal .
hmmm...well u don here am nah!!!!!
Read what the researcher say!!
Turns out, the brain may not need to take in all the visual details of a sex scene, said study researcher Gert Holstege, a uroneurologist at the University of Groningen Medical Center in the Netherlands.

"If you look, for example, at your computer and you have to write something or whatever, then you have to look specifically and carefully at what you're doing because if you don't, it means you make mistakes," Holstege told LiveScience. "But the moment you are watching explicit sexualm movies  , that's not necessary, because you know exactly what's going on. It's not important that the door is green or yellow."
The brain can either be anxious or aroused (or neither), Holstege said, but not both. During orgasm, he has found, activity in brain regions associated with anxiety plummets. This phenomenon may explain why women with low levels of sexual desire often have high levels of anxiety, Holstege said. It makes sense; if you're looking around, focusing on visual details, scanning for danger, it may not be so easy to focus on arousal, he said.

"If you yourself are in a very dangerous situation, whatever the reason, you don't have sexual feelings, because you have to survive for yourself, not survive for the species," Holstege said.
Brain-scan research had previously turned up hints that explicit sexual images might quiet a brain area called Brodmann's area 17, also called the primary visual cortex, a region that does the first processing of incoming visual information in the brain.

I’VE had Sex with my Next Door Neighbour, My Wife found out and now my Family life is in Ruin

Steph's Heart Talk::

I’VE had sex with my next door neighbour, my wife found out and now my family  life is in ruins.
I’m 45 and my wife is 41. We have daughters aged 21 and 19.
My neighbour is 38 and single. She is a full-time primary school teacher and  cares for her elderly mother. She’s gorgeous and I could never understand  why she’d not been snapped up.
She called me a few weeks ago to say that her mother had fallen out of her  chair and asked me to go round to help her.
I was there in a flash and together we lifted her mum back up and she seemed  OK. My neighbour got her mum into bed for a nap and was then so grateful and  teary I made us a cuppa.
We sat at the table and she poured her heart out – saying she’d never been  able to go out on dates because of her mother and how lonely she felt. I  wiped her tears away and hugged her, and she turned my face towards her and  kissed me.
I felt so turned on. She asked me to have sex with her so we did it there and  then, in the kitchen while her mother was asleep upstairs.
I felt like a teenager again, and she texted me the next day and came over to  my house as I’d finished work early. We were just having a cuddle when my  wife walked through the door and caught us.
She was rooted to the spot, not being able to believe what she’d seen. My  neighbour ran home and my wife was so upset she told my girls as soon as  they came in from work.
I feel like such an idiot. Our marriage is in tatters. What can I do?
 ADVICE:
Your neighbour is a needy woman and caught you off-guard, but you can’t expect  your wife just to forgive and forget. It is going to take actions not just  words to prove you are sorry and deserve a second chance.
Tell your wife it was a moment of utter weakness. You’ll have to beg her to  forgive you and tell your girls how sorry you are too – they’re old enough  to understand.
Look at how you can strengthen your marriage. Spoil your wife, look for  opportunities to help more at home and have fun outside. I bet you’ll  realise you’ve been taking your relationship and family life for granted but  it can be better than ever after this crisis.

Chioma decided to get into her house, but she couldn't, because she felt she needed to help the girl crying, she though it would be money or food issues that she could easily solve for the girl., this girl would be in her late 20's. so chioma went closer and asked her what the problem was, she didn't answer, after the 3rd time she didn't answer chioma decided to go home, then the girl answered her " YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND"

Chioma told her that she was willing to wait and understand, so the girl began her story.

Do We Really Have Friends??My Friends Abandoned Me After Olubayo’s Death – Fiancee

Steph's Heart Talk

Folashade Adeshina, fiancée of the late Super Eagles defender, Olubayo Adefemi, has passed through turbulent times one year after she lost Adefemi just before their marriage, writes ’TANA AIYEJINA
It was exactly one year (on Wednesday) since Olubayo Adefemi, a former Super Eagles defender, died in Greece in an auto crash while on his way to the airport to catch a flight to Nigeria to finalise details of his wedding to beautiful model, Shade Adeshina. The wedding had been scheduled for May 26, 2011.
Our correspondent remembers vividly the events that played out on that bright Monday, April 18, 2011. Folashade had gone to the market to buy foodstuff to prepare rice and stew for Adefemi, unknown to her that the player had died in a road accident.
But then she got the bad news through a telephone call from her pastor, Ola Akintomide, while in the kitchen cooking; alas it was one call which would eventually change her life. Adefemi was dead.
“Initially I thought it was a joke. I felt my pastor wanted to know if I really loved him,” Folashade told our correspondent at Oke-Aro, Ogun State, a day after Adefemi’s death.
However, 365 days later, the wounds left behind by the demise of the fallen player are still fresh in the memory of Folashade.
“It’s been hectic for me since Bayo (Adefemi) left me but what can I do? His death hurts me more now than when he just died,” she said.
“You know, it was like a movie to me then, but it’s now beginning to dawn on me. It’s turning to reality and it gets me angry with life the more because I won’t be able to see my Bayo again? I miss him these days and I can’t hold it.”
Besides, she’s also been made to pass through the rough side of life. Friends, who once swarmed  around her, have fled from her, leaving her to her fate.
“I have faced a lot of challenges but I don’t want to mention names so that I don’t hurt anyone. There were many people who feigned regard for me then but today, from their words and actions her, you can see that I no longer mean anything to them anymore. I had so many friends then but where are they now?”
But she added that Olubayo’s family has given the necessary support.  “We are very close especially Mama (Olubayo’s mother), Biodun (Olubayo’s elder brother) and Aunty Bukie (Olubayo’s sister) and I do visit them.”
For her initially, the fear of April 18 was the beginning of wisdom but she has found solace in the Lord.
“Then I always asked myself how would I face this dooms day? But this great loss has forced me to turn all my attention to Christ. And now I am enjoying the feeling of being in Christ.
“So now I see the day as a thanksgiving day because the Bible says ‘in everything give thanks to God.’ Everybody will die one day and death is not the greatest misfortune in life.”
So how did she celebrate the late footballer’s one year anniversary?
She says, “I planned to spend the day with the less privilege; take pictures and go to the graveside. Our plan was to inaugurate EshinOlubayo13, a local football club in his honour, but it has been postponed because we are not through yet with arrangements.
“I had a dream about setting up the club and I believe we can start from somewhere. My plan was also to host a local tournament for him and then use the team that wins to start the club. The competition would be known as the EshinOlubayo13 Cup. It will start with players under 16 years. I think it’s what Bayo wants; I saw the name of the club in a dream.”
Folashade added that she and Olubayo had planned to establish a family pet project also known as EshinOlubayo13 if they had married but she now hopes to start the charity work on her own.
She said, “The pet project had been our dream and it was he (Olubayo) who initiated the project. It was his plan that it would be our family project if we were eventually married. But now that he is late, I don’t want the project to die with him.
“It will be a charity organisation for the less-privilege youths and widows. It’s meant to empower, advice and provide basic needs for the targeted audience and teach them how to fish and prepare them for the world out there. Target areas are primary and secondary schools, old people’s homes and public hospitals.
“It’s not necessarily because of him but because I know this would put smiles on millions of less-privilege Nigerian faces. It will also serve as a calling to government and other bodies to emulate. And most importantly and above all, for God and for Bayo’s wish to be fulfilled despite his demise.”
Even though Olubayo is dead, for Foalshade, he lives on in her heart. The gifts he gave her rekindles the good days she spent with him. But the day she would never forget was when he proposed to her.
“There is this teddy bear and an engagement ring he gave me. There were also so many other gifts a guy would buy for his woman that he bought for me. But the most precious of all is the ring; it’s a diamond ring.
“I remembered the day he proposed to me; it was the best day of my life. He asked me to be careful with Area Boys (street urchins) so that they don’t cut off my hand along with the ring. He was like that, always teasing me.”
Folashade says she still communicates with the late footballer in her dreams. It’s weird but she insists it’s true.
She said, “I want people to know that the dead can get in touch with the living. Before you can achieve that, you have to open your heart and beg God to give you the chance. I did it and it worked for me.
“I see Bayo in my dreams and he gives me directions. He even showed me the beautiful and quiet place he is. It is a beautiful garden, just like the description of the Garden of Eden in the Bible.
“It might sound weird to people, but what am saying is true. Seeing  him doesn’t mean death is knocking on my door as superstitious people are want to believe. I will not die but live to declare the glory of the Lord to the shame of the devil. I only asked God to give me the privilege to see him in my dreams, and He granted me my request.”
She admits that it would be difficult loving again but she says Olubayo has helped in reshaping her life even in death.
“Before I doubted if I could (love again) too but Bayo appeared to me in a dream and told me to move on with my life,” she said.
But will she ever meet a man as nice and caring as Olubayo? Your guess is as good as mine.
“Well, let’s wait until then,” she summed up.

10 Foods For Strong Healthy Hair

LIFESTYLE:

Forget your growling stomach -- experts say healthy foods can benefit your hair too.
In honour of Nutrition Month, we're finding the best food secrets for our bodies and thinking a little differently about what's on our plates. Today, it's all about hair from the inside out.
"You need to have good protein intake to grow hair these days," says hair expert Dr. Alan Bauman of Bauman Medical Group in Florida.
Even though there are many different types of hair, depending on the person, our bodies' ability to produce sebum is one thing we have in common. Sebum is an oily or waxy substance that is created by our hair's sebaceous glands. But just because your locks may look moisturized and healthy, it doesn't mean they are.
"You need to have healthy hair and scalp -- you can't have one without the other. If your scalp is dry, your hair won't be well conditioned," Dr. Bauman says.
Age is also a factor. Dr. Bauman and his team have seen patterns with women of different ages who have experienced hair loss. In the younger generation, you are more at risk for hair loss if you go on a crash diet. On the flip side, women who are in their 50s may experience hair loss because of hormones. "You have to build good hair from the beginning," he says.
And just because you fry up some salmon for dinner tonight, it doesn't mean you'll see results right away, Dr. Bauman says. It can take up to six weeks for food and your hair to finally tie the knot.
Check out the top 10 superfoods that can patch up any split-end or dry hair problems you may have -- your healthy locks will thank you later:
SALMON:

When it comes to foods that have a beauty punch, it's hard to beat salmon. Loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, this high-quality protein source is also filled with vitamin B-12 and iron.

DARK GREEN VEGETABLES:

Spinach, like broccoli and Swiss chard, is an excellent source of vitamins A and C, which your body needs to produce sebum. This oily substance, secreted by your hair follicles, is the body's natural hair conditioner.

BEANS:
Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do beans provide protein for hair growth, but they also inject ample iron, zinc, and biotin into your locks.
NUTS:
Do you go nuts for thick, shiny hair? You should. Brazil nuts are one of nature's best sources of selenium, an important mineral for the health of your scalp. Walnuts contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help condition your hair. They are also a terrific source of zinc, as are cashews, pecans, and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure you ear nuts on the regular.
POULTRY:
Chickens and turkeys may have feathers, but the high-quality protein they provide will help give you the healthy hair you crave. Low quality protein deficiences can cause weak brittle hair which extreme defieciency can cause a loss of hair color. Poultry also provides iron with a high degree of bioavailability, meaning your body can easily reap its benefits.
